What does Nawang provide?
Nawang provides a complete, personalized service, so that you can enjoy the unique experience of Nepal's extraordinary mountains and culture without the hassles and distractions of travelling in an unfamiliar place. When you trek with Nawang you really can relax about the details. He literally escorts you over every step from the airport to your summit, and back.
Nawang will pick you up on arrival at the teeming airport in Kathmandu. He will organize your hotel; take you sightseeing in Kathmandu; recommend the best restaurants; help you with acquiring last-minute supplies or equipment; and book flights to the mountains or transport to the roadhead.
Nawang arranges all trekking and peak permits where needed. On the trail he supplies all camping equipment such as tents (including a 'toilet tent' for western-style privacy!), sleeping mats, lights, chairs, tables, and fuel. He will employ the right number of trusted porters, a cook, kitchen crew and other sherpas as required to ensure a safe and enjoyable trek. Trekkers are expected to carry their own day-pack with items needed during the day such as jackets, water bottles, cameras and other personal items, but all other clothing and equipment is carried by porters.
Nawang carries a comprehensive first-aid kit at all times. However, you should always ensure that you have adequate medical supplies and insurance, and obtain independent advice about any medical conditions you may be concerned about. Read more about health and safety issues here.
All food is carried by porters and purchased locally from nearby villages wherever possible. All water is boiled meticulously before drinking or use in food preparation. Each day usually begins with a cheerful wake-up call and "bed tea" in the early morning. The day's meals include a cooked hot breakfast, an early lunch, afternoon tea and a three course dinner in a noisy mess tent at night.
